These websites review Puerto Vallarta Restaurants. Many restaurant reviews are paid or compensated or biased (for reasons other than food) and report only fluff. Most of the reviewers here do not fall into this category. But take them all with a grain of salt as far as the reporting on “quality” is concerned.

THE VALLARTA INSIDER’S STREET FOOD GUIDE
Some of the finest sources of *real* Mexican food in Puerto Vallarta are to be found on the streets. There are small taco stands and other assorted eateries lining almost any major street in the city. The food is good, safe and very, very authentic and delicious.

This is a guide to these taco stands, with maps, brief descriptions and information on how to find the good ones. On the Vallarta Insider website there is also a more comprehensive listing of restaurants, The Vallarta Insider’s Restaurant List, with contact information, general cuisine offered, price range, and location, but there are not really any reviews.

John Russell, the author, has lived in Puerto Vallarta on and off for about 20 years. He publishes the Vallarta Insider Website.

This guide, is, to me, the best published for restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. It is very graphical and includes a reader-rating system that adds quite a bit of perspective to all reviews. Each restaurant is given the opportunity to write something about itself. Menus for many restaurants are published, price ranges indicated, location and contact information are given. There are even provisions included in this website for comments from individual readers about each restaurant. Quite nice and very inclusive and current.

I haven’t read Gary Beck’s book. I have meet Gary and I have read assorted reviews he has written, chiefly in the Banderas Bay News (see below for link). He loves restaurants and he loves dining in restaurants and he writes mostly positive reviews of every place that he visits.
