Vallarta Verde 2010 » March 13

vallarta-verde-2010The 3rd Vallarta Verde Eco-Fiesta, a fiesta of music, education, culture and art with the aim of identifying ecological problems and bringing them to the attention of city officials, is set for March 13th at La Huerta Restaurant in Paso Ancho. There is no admission fee; the fiesta will begin at noon and last till midnight.

The event will feature more than a dozen well known local musical groups as it did last year to keep things jumping at the attractive outdoor location along the Rio Cuale. The event is a fiesta of music, education, culture and art with the aim of identifying ecological problems and bringing them to the attention of city government along with recommendations for remedies.

Biblioteca Los Mangos Fundraiser Auction » January 29

Reserve Friday, January 29th at 6 pm for the 10th Annual Biblioteca Los Mangos Fundraiser Auction. This year’s event is more important than ever because the Library has fewer donors and the City of Puerto Vallarta is far behind in their usual contributions.

This year there will be live & silent auctions, plus fixed price items, as well as raffle drawings. Los Bambinos and the library’s own fantastic Flamenco Dancers and Belly Dancers will entertain you.

Delicious food & drinks will be served for a nominal amount (the 1st drink is free) and Valet Parking is available for $50 pesos.

Because of our difficult financial situation, we urge supporters of the library, new and existing, to help us by donating items to the auction and attending. Blessing of the Animals » January 17

Bring your household pets and good intentions for the animals of Puerto Vallarta to the SPCA-PV’s Third Annual Blessing of the Animals at the beautiful chapel of Hacienda San Angel Sunday, January 17, the Feast Day of St. Anthony de Abad. This is a traditional Church celebration and is observed in other churches.

The free event will take place at 1 pm at the chapel “Puerta del Cielo” at Miramar 363, just above the Cathedral de Guadalupe in El Cerro. Snacks will be available for a donation after the blessing, across the street at the Hacienda.

Your pets will be welcome there as well. Whether or not you have a pet to bring with you, the event is a charming and heartwarming spectacle, as well as an opportunity to declare with your presence your hopes for more respectful and humane treatment of local animals.

2010 Puerto Vallarta Carnaval, Mardi Gras Parade » Feb 13

Puerto Vallarta’s premier gay night club, Club Mañana, will again sponsor a Carnaval Parade this year for the south side (Olas Altas) area. Everyone is welcome to participate.

This year the parade will be held on Saturday, February 13 from 9 pm to 11 pm and the theme is “Love and Happiness.” Grand Marshall for this year’s parade is recording artist, Kristine W, who will be performing at Club Manana following the parade.

All floats and cars should expand on and relate to the theme (remember, Feb. 14 is Valentine’s Day). For more information or if you’d like your business or organization to enter a float or car in the parade, please fill out this form.
