VII Encuentro de Medicina Natural, Tradicional y Alternativa
The 7th Encounter of Natural, traditional and alternative medicine will take place at Park Lazaro Cardenas from February 10th to 20th, 2011. This year, the fair is dedicated to “Unsung Heroes.”
The unsung heroes are: Cuauhtémoc, Colima, Connin, Nayar, Calzontzin Zamna, Cajeme Teporaca and TupacAmaro.
This event consists of 6 main areas:
- Healing Therapies & Cleansing
- Danza Mexica
- Temascal Traditional
- Training Workshops
- Conferences
- Tianguis
La Danza Prehispánica and/or Mechic, El Abuelo Fuego ceremony, will take place every day at sunrise to greet the sun and at sunset to bid the sun fareweill.
There will be shamans/healers from Peru, Guatemala, Ireland and Cuba who will join the the Mexican Marakames Huichol, Cora, Tlahuicas, Zapotec, Mixtec, and Nahuatl healers.
The tianguis (sales) Area is comprised of natural health products (knowledge of our grandparents) from plants, minerals and animals … as well as Huichol, Triqui, Mixteco, Nahuatl, Tzotzil, Zapotec, etc, crafts.

Gabriela Araujo Concert » September 2
A concert is presented with the actress Gabriela Araujo as part of the Bicentennial of Independence and the Centennial of the Revolution. She is accompanied by guitarist Raul de Anda Molina.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 2 at 8:15 pm in the theater of Hotel Friendly Hola Vallarta. The event is free and punctual attendance is recommended as a large audience is expected.
This event is presented as part of the 2010 celebrations of the Bicentennial of Independence and the Centennial of the Revolution.
It is an event sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the State of Jalisco, under the direction of Alejandro Cravioto.
This is a concert of the actress Gabriela Araujo, accompanied by the renowned Mexican guitarist Raúl Molina de Anda, titled “Canciones y pensamientos revolucionarios.”
The Program:
“Romancero Gitano,” by Federico García Lorca, “Hazme un campito, Gabriela” by the author and “Dueña del Universo” by various authors of the Spanish Golden Age plus contemporaries.
The program is in two acts and is a multidisciplinary concert performance, with singing, poetry and storytelling, all carried out by Gabriela Araujo and music by Raúl Molina de Anda.
