1st Annual Puerto Vallarta Clown Festival » Dec 9 to 11

From 9 to December 11, Puerto Vallarta will host the First National Clown Festival (Primer Festival de Payasos), at the Malecón Los Arcos outdoor theater, Auditorium CECATUR and Park Hidaldo.

For three days, over 150 clowns from all over Mexico will attend conferences and workshops and entertain the public with a common goal of providing joy to children.

Prizes will be given for single and group performances, as well as for makeup and costumes. Entry to the contests is open to everyone, professional and amateur, alike, and there is no charge to enter any competition. Registration for competitions is from 9 am to 5 pm at Los Arcos Amphitheater on December 9.Admission is free to all events.

The main organizer, Juan Pablo Vazquez the clown “PAPOS”, Patita de Perro, said that this idea of the first meeting of clowns, dating from 8 years ago but had not been crystallized for several reasons.

Three parties headed respectively: hell, purgatory and paradise. Hell: Images of war, without order or historical cron’lógico. People fleeing, countries devastated. All black and white and silent color. Imagenes, four pieces of music. purgatory: the city of Sarajero today, martyred as many others. Characters real and imaginary. A visit to the bridge is being rebuilt to show that symbolizes the transition from guilt to forgiveness. Paradise: a young suicide finds peace in the water.

The first film of its kind to chronicle the reasons behind Iraq’s descent into guerrilla war, warlord, rule, criminality and anarchy, NO END IN SIGHT is a jaw-dropping insider’s tale of wholesale incompetence, recklessness, and venality. Based on over 200 hours of footage, the film provides a candid retelling of the events following the fall of Baghdad in 2003. NO END IN SIGHT examines the manner in which the principal errors of US policy largely created the insurgency and chaos that engulf Iraq today.

THIS EVENT WILL BE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

However, we suggest a donation of 50 pesos per person in order to help defray organization expenses and support the work of Democrats Abroad in helping to elect a Democratic President and a workable Democratic majority in both Houses of Congress! (a basket will be passed at the event).
