FREE TANGO CLASS » Oct 1 » J&B Club

A two-hour Introduction to Tango on Monday, October 1, from 8-10 p.m. at J&B Dancing Club will unlock the secrets of this sensuous dance! At this free event your questions will be answered about the dance whose magic has swept the world. Al and Barbara Garvey will present demonstrations with a basic lesson in English and Spanish. Experienced dancers from TangoVallarta will be present to assist newcomers. You do not need a partner to attend.

tango-web.jpgTango is an intense communication between a man and a woman, relying on body language rather than words. The connection achieved between the pair expresses itself in a completely improvised dance unique to one couple in a particular moment with a specific music. Tango is often compared to a “Three minute love affair”.

In addition to the Introduction to Tango on October 1, tango practices are held every Wednesday at J&B, also from 8-10 p.m.. These are free and everyone is invited. A four-week session of classes begins Monday, October 8.

PS: If you plan to come to Introduction to Tango on Monday, please RSVP by email or phone 222-8895 so we’ll know how many people to expect. Gracias!

J&B Dancing Club is at Francisco M. Ascensio 2043, in the Hotel Zone. For further information please call Al or Barbara Garvey at 222-8895, email, or visit our website: www.tangobar-productions.com

Tango Exhibition :: Aug 31 :: Plaza Marina

For tango fans here is an opportunity to see members of Tango Vallarta dance. They will perform Friday afternoon, August 31, at Plaza Marina as part of the Plaza’s 18th Anniversary celebration.

The tango exhibition will be held at 5:00 p.m. inside the building near Comercial Mexicana, to the left of the entrance. Look for the round kiosk and listen for the music! This event is free to the public.

If you enjoy tango music, remember to listen on Wednesday mornings at 11:00 to 91.9 FM for an informative and interesting show presenting music, history, and thoughts on Argentine Tango.

TANGO EVENING at J&B Dance Club, June 6

This Wed, June 6, tango practica will be extra special. Former PV resident Nanette Taylor will be back for a visit and plans to join us for the evening. Nanette left PV a number of years ago to learn Argentine tango… or maybe she left and then found tango. I like the first version. After studying in Buenos Aires with the best, Nanette returned to the States and settled near Portland, OR, for access to their large, active tango community.

Old friends of Nanette are welcome to join us on Wed, from 8 – 10 pm at J&B Dancing Club on Francisco Medina Asencio (airport road) near Office Depot. There is no charge, and any tango dancers are welcome to join us on the floor. Nanette will be too busy, I hope, to visit, but you can enjoy watching her dance… and visit later.
