Altruism Festival 2011
The CasaMagna Marriott Resort Puerto Vallarta and the American Consular Agency are teaming up to host the 7th International Festival of Altruism on May 15th, 2011.
The festival will feature a wide range of activities including a food demonstration from more than 40 of Puerto Vallarta’s finest restaurants, live music and dance, and cultural presentations.
The International Festival of Altruism will take place from 6 – 10 pm with an admission price of $300 pesos. The tickets can be purchased with any of the participating charities or at the concierge desk at CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. All proceeds raised from the festival will be evenly distributed among the 24 benefiting charities which include:

Each charity will also be given the opportunity to host a display at the festival to highlight the great impact they are having on Puerto Vallarta.
Last year more than 1,600 people attend to the event, and were raised $578.400 pesos that were divided equally so each association received $ 24,100 pesos.

CLOSE UP VALLARTA
An international video creation festival.
The Festival is an open exhibition where material ranging from video art to experimental video will be presented, covering everything related to art made in video.
It constitutes an interrelation and promotion space that enables us to come closer to visual experimentation; CLOSE UP VALLARTA offers the chance to present new video work of emerging or established artists and its focus is to present art made in video in spaces other than museums and galleries, and to reach more spectators.
The curatorial proposal is based on liberating video-art from the rigid and pre-established discourse that has dominated the genre. CLOSE UP project emulates the constant activity of the eye and our perception, and arises from the modern trend to visualize our existence.
