Much activity around town. New businesses are opening and old ones are coming out of the summer low season hibernation. Northern expats and tourists are escaping the cold and snow.
SUNDAY October 28
- TIME CHANGES – DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS
- VIA RECREACTIVA — 8 am to 2 pm. From the Sports Stadium to the Holiday Inn, Fco. Medina Ascencio (the main airport road) will be closed to traffic for a public walk, bicycle, run. Traffic will be diverted to the laterals.
- SUNSET MILONGA AND LATIN DANCE PARTY — 4:30 to 8 pm at the Hotel Rosita, Paseo Diaz Ordaz # 901. Free class and dance (Tango, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue). Drink and food available for purchase.
- CONCERT — Municipal Band, beginning at 6 pm, Presidencia Square, FREE
- PUBLIC DANCE — the Sunday Evening Dance, 7 pm, traditional dancing to live music in the Presidencia Square, FREE
- THE MALECÓN — When the sun goes down, the Malecón comes alive. Come out and see and stroll the new Malecon!

- LOTERIA (MEXICAN BINGO) — 8 to 10 pm at Bar Frida. “Come and get lucky.” Fabulous prizes. Drink specials. No cover.
FRIDAY November 2
- DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS 2 — Many activities and expositions. Clic HERE for events calendar.
- DAY OF THE DEAD LECTURE — 10:30 am at the IFC. Dr. Daniel Grippo discusses the rich mix of historical traditions found in the origins of Day of the Dead, its changing character over time, its emergence as a symbol of Mexican identity, and its connection with globalization and tourism. $100 pesos general admission / $80 pesos for IFC members. Proceeds support local Mexican charities.
- LOS MUERTOS PIER FISHING TOURNAMENT — Contestants’ registration, 5 pm, at the San Marino Hotel. 2000 pesos per boat.
- DANZA PREHISPÁNICA — 8 pm. A cultural exhibition in Park Hidalgo. Free.
- SATURDAY FARMERS MARKET — At the Paradise Community Center on Pulpito in Old Town. 9 to 12:30 am. Year-round.
- VALLARTA TOURIST FARMERS MARKET — 9:30 am to 2 pm at Caranza and Pino Suarez. Grand opening for the season.
- DOGS & CATS — SPCA Pet Adoptions, Los Mangos Library, 10 am to 2 pm.
- LITERARY — PV Writers Group Meeting at Biblioteca Los Mangos, Ave. Francisco Villa 1001 at 1 pm.
- LOS MUERTOS PIER FISHING TOURNAMENT — Contestants’ boats return to shore at 3 pm. Street party with all fish caught being served to the public gratis after the winners are announced.
SUNDAY November 4
- X MEDIO MARATON 5K & 10K — 7 am. The race of the year. From the Sports Stadium Agustín Flores Contreras to Las Juntas and back.
- SUNSET MILONGA AND LATIN DANCE PARTY — 4:30 to 8 pm at the Hotel Rosita, Paseo Diaz Ordaz # 901. Free class and dance (Tango, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue). Drink and food available for purchase.
