PVScene Map

The PVScene is located on the Cuale River on Calle Manantial (mislabeled by Google as “La Rivera” on this map – But, hey, no one ever thought that Google could get everything right).

One nice feature of this map is the street view which shows Sarah standing on our balcony and our old white Toyota pickup parked in front. If you haven’t been here before, I suggest that you turn on the street view feature of the map (put your mouse over the little man in the upper left hand corner of the map and drag him down to near the pointer). The street view helps make confusing directions clear.

ADDRESS:
Manantial 375
Colonia Buenos Aires
Puerto Vallarta.

BUS DIRECTIONS:

The Paso Ancho R-04 bus passes in front of our door for easy access by bus. This bus runs every 20 minutes and is found on the main south-bound city bus route through Centro Vallarta. This route is rather circuitous.

DRIVING OR TAXI DIRECTIONS:

FROM THE NORTH OF VALLARTA, coming south on the Libramiento, turn left at the first stop light after you come out of the big tunel. Follow that road until you begin to see houses (about 1/4 mile down from the light). On your right you will see a large metal walking bridge across the Cuale river. We are the 4th house from the street corner across from that bridge. Park anywhere on this street. It is safe. We are upstairs behind a green metal gate. There are a couple of taco stands on the river bank across the road from us.

FROM THE SOUTH OF VALLARTA on the Libramiento, turn right at the second stop light after the small tunel. Then follow the previous instructions.

It is best not to try to find us by driving through town.

Arena Vallarta

ARENA VALLARTA, with an area of 10 hectares is the new option especially designed to accommodate all kinds of shows: recreational, sporting, artistic or cultural, charrería, massive concerts, wrestling, motocross, bullfights, cockfights, rodeos, artist presentations, etc.

Its building offers 8000 m2 completely roofed at a height of 15 meters, with first class facilities including an area of fast food shops, bathrooms, a media room and 600 parking spaces.

The capacity can be adapted to any type of event and assembly, as it has the capacity to comfortably seat 8000 people and can hold up to 20,000 standing attendees using the arena as a stage area for massive events.

It is handicapped accessible and includes amenities such as elegant, private VIP boxes

ARENA VALLARTA is located in El Colorado, just 20 minutes from International Airport “Gustavo Diaz Ordaz,” as well as the hotel areas of Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta, with direct and convenient access to the highway Guadalajara-Mascota and highway 200.

TRANSPORTATION

Puerto Vallarta is somewhat of an isolated community. It is a 4-5 hour drive to the nearest large city (Guadalajara) with winding, small mountain roads separating it in all directions from the rest of Mexico.

The International Airport is very convenient and often an economical method of travel. It is serviced on the ground by an exclusive, rather expensive taxi system (typically twice the price of other local taxis) and by a very inexpensive local bus system.

The Port is the entry point for many cruise lines, and the associated private Marina is home to many international sea travelers. There are similar private Marinas nearby in Nuevo Vallarta and La Cruz.

Along the coast there are water taxis for transport to small bays up and down the nearby coast. This system uses small open pangas that typically hold between 12 and 24 passengers. They run regularly between Nuevo Vallarta, Marina Vallarta, Los Muertos Beach, Boca de Tomatlan and the smaller coves to the south such as Las Animas and Yelapa.

The local taxi system is extensive and provides moderate cost in town travel. The local bus system, though very basic, is very inexpensive and extensive.

The long-distance bus system in Mexico is inexpensive and of a very high quality if the first class buses are chosen.

Public Parking Lots

Public Parking Lots:

Street parking can be trying at times in Puerto Vallarta. The streets in town are often narrow and busy.

To remedy this situation, the city has constructed, in the last 4 years, 4 public parking lots conveniently located in the main tourist and commercial centers.

Along with the public parking lots, there are quite a few large lots accompanying shopping centers and supermarkets.

  • Walmart is in 2 locations in Vallarta and both have easy, free parking.
  • the Soriana near the Marina Terminal is a free, convenient parking lot for those needing to conduct business at Immigracion.
  • Costco has one large, free lot.
  • The hotel zone Mega has a Large, sheltered lot under the store and the Plaza Marina mega has a controlled outside lot.
  • The Pitillal Soriana market also has large, free lot while the Hotel zone Soriana has paid parking.
