To close with a flourish the year, the group Lemmus / Peninsula announced it will present, as part of its Winter Festival 2009 – 2010, a big concert with the Chamber Orchestra of the Riviera Nayarit, conducted by Maestro José Miguel Ferrer with soprano Alma Rocio Jimenez. This is hoped to be the most spectacular event of the new year in the Bay of Banderas.
The New Years concert will be Thursday, December 31 at 9 pm at the Cultural Center of San Pancho Riviera Nayarit. where to entertain will present a live mariachi and a recital of Latin music.
The concert will feature works by renowned composers such as Bellini, Verdi and Puccini and interpreted by international soprano Alma Rocío Jiménez Nayarit.
The event will benefit the arts and cultural community in the Riviera Nayarit. A donation of $975 pesos per person includes three spectacular shows, a three course dinner, an international open bar and mariachis to welcome the arrival of 2010.
At this concert will be music for dancing and fireworks to complete the holiday.
This price includes round trip transportation departing at 8 pm from the Peninsula Vallarta Mall returning at 2 am. Transportation will also be provided to and from the Villa Magna in Nuevo Vallarta on the same schedule.
The soprano
Alma Rocío Jiménez Nayarit is a soprano, composer, and cultural manager. She has studied singing with important teachers such as Flavio Becerra, Rosario Andrade, Armando Mora, Adina Aaron, David Small and Christine Weidinger and many others.
In 2006 she was awarded the International Opera Singing Competition held in the city of Trujillo, Peru, where she won second prize.
In 2007, she participated in the zarzuela Verbena de la Paloma by composer Tomas Breton at Teatro Diana in Guadalajara, in the role of “Susana” and in that same year, she sang the lead role of Georges Bizet Carmen for University of Minnesota, USA.
Her performances of 2008 were received with acclaim from critics for the poetic intensity, her acting ability and artistic and emotional beauty of her voice.
In 2009 appears on national network television program within the Animal Nocturno, led by Ricardo Rocha and Paty Llaca, performing “O Mio Babbino Caro, and L’amour est un oiseau rebelle.
