The eclectic group of talented individuals who go by the name of the VALLARTA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA will be offering their annual contribution to the Christmas festivities this year at the AMERICAN SCHOOL (Colegio Americano), out by Plaza Marina.
The performance is scheduled for 8 pm on SUNDAY, 16th DECEMBER. I am told that the concert this year will include the Vallarta Chamber Choir (directed by Nick Salmans) presenting Vivlaldi’s Gloria along with the usual audience participation in your favourite carols. The orchestra is conducted by Rigoberto Mora.
Those already familiar with this group will be aware of the pleasure that they give us mere mortals at various times throughout the year, (IMHO one of the few truly intellectual and inspirational talents we have).
Most of them work or have businesses to run but give freely of their time and talent to entertain us and they charge NO ADMISSION FEE to their concert. Life being what it is though, they do incur expenses and so appreciate donations on the night. So please be generous.
Anybody who loves Christmas and likes to build the feel-good factor on the run up to the 25th will not find a better way to kick-start the process.
And whether you are already a fan or a newcomer, make a note in your diary for 2008, they will be offering their SPRING CONCERT, also at the AMERICAN SCHOOL at 8 pm on SUNDAY, 16th MARCH. Same deal, no admission fee, but donations more than welcome.
