The San Franciscan Comedy Club is created and presented by Pam Ensminger. Pam arrived in Puerto Vallarta last February with hopes, like many others, to open a business and live the rest of her life here. Her love for comedy, her multiple business experiences and volunteer community theater involvement, along with seeing a need for more English language cultural events here in Puerto Vallarta, were the catalysts in her decision to open a comedy club. Pam was one of the founders of a performing arts school in New Mexico called “PAPA” Public Academy for Performing Arts.”
Pam has booked some very talented comedians out of New York, California, Toronto and other NOTB venues that will keep you entertained and laughing the whole evening.

A QUICKIE REVIEW of OPENING NIGHT:
Brad Loekle is a terrific comedian with a sophistication and dry humor that I’m very fond of from my days in the *big city.* His routine is gay with a heavily straight-oriented presentation (the audience was half and half this night). He pulls no punches and goes right into the gut with his jokes and stories. The audience laughed constantly.I don’t think his routine would go over in the land of religion and propriety, tho. He’d probably be tarred and feathered after the first 3 minutes. If this is the comedian the Club is using to test the waters here, I can’t wait to see to what extremes they will go in future weeks.
The MCs, Mark and Ayn, are first class, also. Either could do their own shows.
The complimentary “all you can drink” pre-bar was a tad simple with good but cheap wines (Conche y Toro – my pick for less expensive wines here), standard cerveza and some sort of barrel concoction of fruit juices and vodka (my choice of the three – it was a hefty brew…). There were babes working the bar. The bar area/salon is very comfortable and was quite a lively place before and after the show.
The auditorium is designed so that everyone has a great view of the stage. The seats are very padded cushions on cement bleachers.
I loved the evening.
