This Art Exhibition includes paintings by Hector Ponce, Juan Hoffmann, Armando Romero and Ammenaul Cruz, among other Mexican Artists, who will share the Dia de Los Muertos experience. Also exhibited will be beautiful Catrinas by Amador Toscano. These elegant handmade Paper Mache Lady Catrinas have great personalities, with a touch of sophistication and elegant dresses, feathered hats and boas.

Galería Arte Latinoamericano » 9th Anniversary Celebration » Wed, Oct 31

Galería Arte Latinoamericano will celebrate its 9th Anniversary on Wednesday, October 31st, during the Vallarta traditional Wednesday night Art Walk. There will be a cocktail party full of surprises and a collective exhibition of the artists who will be showing their work this year.

The time is from 6 to 10 pm at 155 Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez downtown.

The Goodies will be Playing in full costume at Bucerias Gardens Oct. 31st 9-12pm.

Bucerias Gardens is located at #40 Mexico Street in Bucerias, 2 1/2 Blocks North (Towards La Cruz) of the Square (the bar with Big Yellow Doors). As you go past the Taxi Stand towards the Beach make your first right and you will be on Avenida Mexico.

Look for the yellow doors.

Hurricane Kenna Photo Exhibit » Oct 25 to Nov 10.

October 25th marks five years since Hurricane Kenna wreaked havoc on the coastal town of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Though no lives were lost, it was an event that Banderas Bay area residents will not soon forget.

From October 26th-November 3rd, a photo documentary by photographer Javier Pérez Jiménez will be on display in the Central Patio of the Presidencia Municipal, in the main square of downtown Puerto Vallarta.

The exposition will then move to the Centro Universitario de la Costa’s Juan Luis Cifuentes Lemus auditorium, where it will be presented from November 5th-10th, 2007.

Many of us did not comprehend the severity of the storm, since the Banderas Bay region is known as one of the most protected areas along Mexico’s Pacific coastline. Hurricane Kenna was the first storm to affect Puerto Vallarta in over 60 years.
