2010 – 2011 Vallarta Art Walk
Puerto Vallarta is known for embracing the arts. From the many sculptures that line its malec$oacute;n to the fine art galleries that house national and international works, it is hard not to be impressed by the dynamic arts scene in this town of romantic charms and authentic Mexican traditions. Visitors to Puerto Vallarta can explore the town’s numerous arts offerings during weekly self-guided art walks from October 27, 2010 to May, 25, 2011.
Art lovers can take part in this season’s Art Walk, and visit 15 galleries and appreciate the quality if the art exhibited. All participating galleries are located in Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town, making the walk from gallery to gallery pleasant through the cobble stoned streets of the colonial city, all framed with the Pacific blue waters of the Bay of Banderas.

Both local and international artists display their work within select galleries, and often times featured artists will make an appearance for a meet-and-greet on a select Wednesday evening from 6-10 p.m. The artwork ranges from paintings, ceramics, and sculptures to Huichol crafts, and unique handmade jewelry.

Puerto Vallarta International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival
The Puerto Vallarta International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival has been postponed until November of 2011 while we continue to seek out qualified LGBT films for the Festival. As a first-time event, we want to make sure that the quality of the PVIGLFF meets, and hopefully exceeds, the cultural expectations of the destination, as well as its audience. We encourage all LGBT filmmakers around the world with Spanish language, or English language films with Spanish subtitles, to continue to submit their films for consideration.
The Puerto Vallarta International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, PVIGLFF, is based in the world-renowned historic Zona Romantica of Puerto Vallarta, steps from the Gringo Gulch area which set the stage for the torrid love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton that brought Puerto Vallarta unique international attention.

Our first Puerto Vallarta International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival will take place April 28th though May 1st, 2011, with screenings at both outdoor and indoor venues, from private estates, to beach clubs and cultural centers. Our Monthly Screening Series provides further screenings, educational, and social opportunities throughout the year for the LGBT community and its supporters.
As a grassroots Festival with programs supported by volunteers, assistance for the community is always appreciated and welcome. We look forward to everyone’s involvement in the Puerto Vallarta International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and the Monthly Screening Series! Please CONTACT US to volunteer, sponsor events, provide accommodations, travel, or meals for talent, or provide a screening venue for the Festival or Monthly Screening Series.
