There will be a beach concert as part of the Dia de los Muertos holiday festivities. From 6 to 10pm. Los Muertos Beach at the pier. Sponsored by Cuates y Cuetes. Details will be a surprise.
Thursday, November 1, 6 to 10 pm or so.
Beginning Thursday, June 14th, and continuing on Thursdays until further notice, The Lazy Lizard Bar and Restaurant on Los Muertos Beach, just south of the pier, will be hosting BINGO for the KIDS.
This Thursday, June 28th, the surprise will be ten-fold and half naked (nobody’s saying WHAT half) and I don’t think that they’ll let the R.I.S.E. kids in to dance (or watch) at this half-time show….
The Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza, (R.I.S.E.), is a non-profit shelter for babies and children under the age of 14 who have been turned over to R.I.S.E. by DIF (Desarrollo Integral de la Familia), a Mexican Government institution that is the legal representative for minors under the age of 14.
Entertainment-wise, this is a very active week in Vallarta. Besides these events, Thursday will host the Mariachi Gala at the Malecon. The street (from the top of the Malecon to Libertad) will be closed to vehicle traffic from about 4 pm on. The main concert will begin around 9 pm with a fireworks display at around midnight.
These two new postings are from Tom Colvin, via a Steve York’s Yahoo Music Forum:
3 Grand Dames of Song — special performance at Mariachi Loco
Mariachi Loco, the music club on I. Vallarta in Southside, presents three well-known “grand dames” singers this Friday night. Performing will be Lucero del Campo, who I think may be a female impersonator, is known as “La Reina del Falsete.” Also performing at Gloria Armida and Amparo Rodriguez. Expect high-spirited Mexican mariachi and ranchero music.
End of season concert at Lienzo Charro La Ribera in Pitillal
Few expats know about, much less attend the frequent music nights at the La Ribera grounds in Pitillal. These events, staged in a horse rink stadium, are immensely popular with the local Mexican population. This Saturday will be the last concert for awhile, as the stadium closes down for the rainy season
Featured will be Los Tucanes de Tijuana. Also performing will be Vaquero’s Musical and Astilleros. These events are fun, but it is recommended that you find a local resident to accompany you.
