From the 13th of April to the 23rd, collection booths will be set up around Vallarta (see poster for times and dates) to accept toys (good condition, don’t use batteries…) for donation to R.I.S.E. and La Casa Hogar “Maximo Cornejo” children’s shelters.
On April 25 there will be a show at Plaza Caracol highlighting young talents.
This program is formed by young Vallartenses “concerned about those who have less.”

The mission of SPCA de PV is to help fund and promote sterilization, adoption and healthcare efforts for companion animals in the Puerto Vallarta area, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals. Monies raised will support these various goals in ways that are most feasible within the community.
SPACE IS LIMITED. TICKETS WILL BE SOLD ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS.
TICKETS AND AUCTION ITEM TO BE PAID FOR BY CHECK OR CASH ONLY.
This event is being entirely underwritten by Janice Chatterton, owner of Hacienda San Angel and Treasurer of the SPCA de PV.
The 5th Annual Puerto Vallarta Altruism Festival will be held at the Marriott CasaMagna Resort Hotel on Sunday May 25, 2008.
The Banderas Bay area is home to a variety of charities and non-profit organizations that enhance the lives of those who are in need of help, so once again, CasaMagna Marriott Resort Puerto Vallarta and American Consular Agent Kelly Trainor are teaming up to host the 5th Annual International Festival of Altruism.
Scheduled to be held in the beachfront garden at the Marriott CasaMagna Resort at 6 pm on Sunday, May 25th, this popular charitable event offers everyone the opportunity to learn more about the continuing and varying needs of some of our most important local charities, and how you can get involved.
Every year hundreds of Puerto Vallarta residents and visitors turn out for this event, which features top restaurants offering food and refreshments, live entertainment, dancing and more for one low price, with all proceeds donated to Banderas Bay area charitable organizations who are in need of a little help.

Puerto Vallarta – Mark Sunday April 6 on your calendars to come by the Fiesta Ecologico to be held from 11 am till 8 pm at Cuiza, on Isla Rio Cuale. Vallarta Verde, a group of young and ardent ecology-minded activists has launched a new initiative to foster “green” thinking among Vallartenses.
Spearheading the new group’s efforts are Greta Fuentes, Tatiana Meneses, Carole Oury and Mercedes Sanchez among others.
The event will feature theater, poetry and an all-day concert featuring Joe “King” Carrasco, Don & Rhonda, Paco Barajas, Azul, Lalo Quimixto, Teocalich, Philippo lo Grande, Oscar Fuentes, Jerôme, Baco, Martín, Los Goodies, Rasta Michol and other local artists who are dedicated to the preservation of Puerto Vallarta’s ecological wonders.

SPRING FASHION EXPO 2008, A Festival of Flowers
Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens.
PROGRAM:
A special bus will be available for attendees. It will leave Park Cardenas on Old Town at 3pm and return at 6:30pm. Parking at the Gardens is very limited.
Botanical Garden admission is 30 pesos.
In commemoration of International Women’s Day, March 8, for the first time Puerto Vallarta will host The NATIONAL CONGRESS “FEMALE VOICES,” where women will have the opportunity to listen and learn from other women experts about vital issues .
VOCES FEMENINAS is a gathering to reflect on the role of women in various fields. It is an opportunity to learn and share experiences between women today to show that women can take risks and become leaders.
This Congress is a benefit for the construction of a shelter, del Albergue, “Alas de Libertad” whose goal is to help and assist women in violent situations.
