Experience the human body in all its elegance and complexity in this amazing and transformational exhibit. BODY WORLDS & The Heart offers profound insight into the human body and puts anatomy in clear context. Now this exhibit is at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, beginning September 3, 2010 and continuing until February, 2011.

Body Worlds & The Heart features over 200 authentic human specimens including whole-body Plastinates, organs and translucent body slices.

Nearly 30 million people have experienced this critically acclaimed exhibition in over 50 cities across the world. This is the first exhibition in Mexico.

  • 8 am – Ceremony of raising the flag to full mast by elements of the 8ª Zona Naval at the entrance to the sports stadium, Agustín Flores Contreras

  • 7 pm – Presentation of Bicentennial Queen Candidates at Los Arcos Amphitheater

SEPTEMBER 10

  • 8 pm – Coronation of the Queen and her Royal Bicentennial Court at the Presidencia

SEPTEMBER 11

  • 7 am – Campaign “Clean Your Neighborhood” Ixtapa.
  • 8:30 pm – “Baile del Rebozo” Salón Jalisco- Hotel Sheraton
  • 10 pm – Coronation of the Queen of the Fiestas Patrias in Las Palmas

SEPTEMBER 12

  • 10 pm – Coronation of the Queen of the Fiestas Patrias in Pitillal

  • 10 am – Charros Parade (Traditional Cowboy Parade) starting at Cardenas Park and going up I. Vallarta, Av. Morelos and Av. México (downtown bus service will be disrupted).
  • 8 pm – Coronation of the Queen of the Fiestas Patrias in Ixtapa
  • 10 pm – Coronation of the Queen of the Fiestas Patrias in Las Juntas

SEPTEMBER 15

  • 9 am – Unveiling of the sculpture “La Victoria Del Bicentenario” by the Santa Maria Plaza, at the intersection of Fco. Medina Ascencio and the Libramiento
  • 9:30 am – Reunión Comunida Vallartense (meeting of the community of the Vallarta people) and the presentation of the National Anthem by the municipal chorus of Vallarta at the Presidencia Plaza
  • 10 pm – Presentation by the Municipal Chorus of Puerto Vallarta in front of the entrance to the Presidencia
  • 10:50 pm – Reading the “Arenga de Hidalgo” by Lic. José de Jesús Sánchez, Guerra-Secretario General de Gobierno, on the balcony of the Presidency
  • 11 pm – CEREMONIA DEL GRITO DE INDEPENDENCIA led by Lic. Salvador González Reséndiz, the mayor of Puerto Vallarta, from the balcony of the Presidencia
    • The National Anthem – sung by all the people and Municipal Chorus
    • Fireworks – At Los Arcos amphitheater.
    • Baile Popular – A street dance for the people of Vallarta at the Presidencia Plaza and the Malecón

SEPTEMBER 16

  • 8 am – Ceremony: Flag raising to full mast at the Presidencia Plaza
  • 8:30 am – Civic Ceremony at Park Hidalgo
  • 10 am – Military Parade starting at Cardenas Park and continuing up I. Vallarta, Morelos and Av. México (downtown bus service disrupted)
  • 7 pm – Festival de la Independencia – Los Arcos Amphitheater
    • Ballet Folclórico “Vallarta Azteca”
    • Display of the winners of the Bicentennial mural and poster Contest
    • Musicians and Singers

SEPTEMBER 27

  • 8 am – Ceremony: Raising of the flag to full mast by the Elementos de Seguridad Pública
  • 8:30 am – Civic Ceremony at Park Hidalgo
  • 10 pm – “Ballet del Bicntenario“- Grupo Folclórico Municipal Xuitla at Los Arcos Amphitheater

Charity Bingo for Pasitos de Luz will be starting Tuesday, October 5. Bingo cards go on sale at 6:00pm and we will start at 6:30pm sharp.

Bingo will be every second Tuesday from October 5th to April 19, 2011.

Come help us with our new goal this year of $200,000.00 pesos.

Bring your friends and come enjoy a night of fun and laughter and hopefully you will be the next person calling out “BINGO”

Firefighters and lifeguards here in Puerto Vallarta seemingly do miracles with nothing. The dedication of these first-responders to emergency services is unmatched. These are heroes who walk among us never looking for glory or praise. Although they don’t seek recognition for their thoughtful and caring ways, it’s our time to reciprocate and say thanks through BRING A THING.
