Doggie Day
by Laura Gelezunas
The restaurant Daiquiri Dick’s is going to the dogs. It’s time to grab your best friend and head to the Pet Picnic.
The second annual Pet Picnic will be held Saturday, December 8 starting at 11 AM on the beach behind Daiquiri Dick’s restaurant. Enjoy a boxed lunch and, of course, there’s a doggie bag for your pal.
Last year over 60 dogs and their best friends made an appearance at this fun-filled event. This year proceeds go to Ayuda a los Animales, Help the Animals, part of the PEACE charity association.
“I feel strongly that we need to support our animals, because they have no voice. We have to be their voice and we have to take care of them,” says Helen Hartung, an Animal Lover, “All they give is unconditional love.”
Audience participation is encouraged for the Best Costume and Best Trained contests.
There’s going to be a raffle with all kinds of great items and door prizes, too. This is also a great chance to meet other animal lovers.
Tickets are $175 in advance and $225 at the door. You can purchase them at Daiquiri Dick’s Restaurant or The Deli. Space is limited, so get your tickets early. It promises to be another tale wagging event.
