We wish to express our sincere thanks to all the merchants who generously donated prizes and all those workers who helped with this project.. R.I.S.E. 2008 Poster Competition
The Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza is sponsoring an annual Poster Competition to raise awareness of the needs of the children at the shelter. The theme of this year’s contest is “Los Niños Son El Futuro” and everyone is encouraged to enter.
Known locally as R.I.S.E., the Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza is a non-profit shelter for babies and children under the age of 14. Some of these children are orphans, but most come from unbearable situations having been abused, neglected, or simply abandoned. R.I.S.E. gives these children a safe and loving place to live because they have no other choice in their lives.
The Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza is sponsoring an annual Poster Competition to raise awareness of the needs of the children at the shelter. We would like the Puerto Vallarta business community to assist with this project. If your business could contribute services, we would appreciate the help. We currently need someone to print the winning poster.

“The Children are the Future”
The Rules:
- The competition is open to everyone, all residents of Puerto Vallarta, visitors, students, professionals and amateurs are encouraged to enter. There are no age restrictions.
- Entries must be original works and should focus on the theme. Posters may be in either Spanish or English. The purpose of the winning poster shall be to raise awareness of the fact that children are our future.
- All printable media are acceptable (photographs, watercolor, tempera, drawing, mixed media, printable computer graphics, etc.) Entry size shall be no larger than 18 x 24 inches. Entries must be accompanied by the name, address, telephone and email address of the entrant. The entrant or entrant’s guardian must complete a standard release form when submitting the poster.
- Entries are submitted to the Refugio between the hours of 11 am and 1 pm, and not later than 12 pm on Monday, December 17th, 2007.
- There are First, Second and Third place winners. The judges’ decisions are final. Winning entries will be announced on January 21st, 2008. Posters will be judged on creativity and imagination, clarity of message, focus on the theme and artistic quality. All entries become the property of R.I.S.E. and will not be returned.
