It is officially “low” season now and Puerto Vallarta becomes a town again and not just a destination.
SUNDAY July 1
- LEY SECA — from midnight Friday until midnight Sunday, no alcohol can be sold or served in Puerto Vallarta because of the election code. Many bars and restaurants will be closed.
- ELECTION DAY — Mexican National and Local elections today.
- CANADA DAY — Canadians party to celebrate the creation of their Dominion. Many Canadian parties around town.
- VIA RECREACTIVA — 8 am to 2 pm. From the Sports Stadium to the Holiday Inn, Fco. Medina Ascencio (the main airport road) will be closed to traffic for a public walk, bicycle, run. Traffic will be diverted to the laterals.
- SUNSET MILONGA AND LATIN DANCE PARTY — 4:30 to 8 pm at the Hotel Rosita, Paseo Diaz Ordaz # 901. Free class and dance (Tango, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue). Drink and food available for purchase.
- CONCERT — Municipal Band, beginning at 6 pm, Presidencia Square, FREE
- PUBLIC DANCE — the Sunday Evening Dance, 7 pm, traditional dancing to live music in the Presidencia Square, FREE
- THE MALECÓN — When the sun goes down, the Malecón comes alive. Come out and see and stroll the new Malecon!
- CLUB MANANA REOPENS — At the stroke of midnight, Vallarta’s largest gay club, Club Manana, will reopen after being closed for a year. No cover. It’s a celebration…

- DANZA PREHISPÁNICA — 8 pm. A cultural exhibition in Park Hidalgo. Free.
TUESDAY July 3
- FULL MOON
- PING PONG — 4 to 8 pm open play at the Bobadilla Sports Center. All levels plus the robot. Info: 322-779-7274 (English) and 322-299-0848 (Spanish). 99 pesos enrollment and 200 pesos a month.
- DANZA PREHISPÁNICA — 8 pm. A cultural exhibition in Park Hidalgo. Free.
WEDNESDAY July 4
- US INDEPENDENCE DAY — Many celebrations in local clubs and bars.
THURSDAY July 5
- PING PONG — 4 to 8 pm open play at the Bobadilla Sports Center. All levels plus the robot. Info: 322-779-7274 (English) and 322-299-0848 (Spanish). 99 pesos enrollment and 200 pesos a month.
- CONCERT — Municipal Band, 7 pm, Presidencia Square, FREE
- LOTERIA (MEXICAN BINGO) — 8 to 10 pm at Bar Frida. “Come and get lucky.” Fabulous prizes. Drink specials. No cover.
FRIDAY July 6
- VALLARTA SCENE EXPAT MEETUP — 6 – 8 pm at Bar Oceano on the Malecon. $1 (US) cerveza and margaritas. Come and party.
- DANZA PREHISPÁNICA — 8 pm. A cultural exhibition in Park Hidalgo. Free.
SATURDAY July 7
- SUMMER FARMERS MARKET — At the Paradise Community Center on Pulpito in Old Town. 9 to 12:30 am. (through the summer)

- MEGAMARCHA — 3 pm somewhere or maybe or not in Vallarta to the Pitillal Plaza to protest the outcome of the recent elections. If you run into a traffic jam in Centro or on Fco Villa, this is why. It may or may not happen…
- MARTÍN Y LAS DIOSAS DE LA CUMBIA — 8 pm at Los Arcos Amphitheater on the Malecon. Cumbia Concert. Free.
- GRAN FIESTA MEXICANA w/XIULTA BALLET — 8:30 pm in Plaza Caracol. A benefit performance to help fund the group’s tour around Mexico. 50 pesos.
