6th Campeonato Nacional Charro “Vallarta 2008”
LOCATION: Lienzo Charro Miguel “Prieto” Ibarría in Puerto Vallarta in Colonia Mojoneras (not far from the Central Bus Station past the airport).
ADMISSION: 80 pesos for adults (120 pesos on Sunday) and 30 pesos for children.

PRIZES:
the First Place Prize (in their saddle-bags, packed to ride off into the sunset) is 200 thousand pesos with 150 thousand for Second Place, 100 thousand for the Third, and 40 and 30 thousand for those who occupy that lonely, but still profitable, land of the 4th and 5th places. In addition there will be fine amounts for individual champions.

- 11am, The teams: Puente de Camotlán – Charros de Polotitlán – Tapatía de Charros y los anfitriones Charros de Vallarta – con la actuación especial de la Escaramuza Charra La Providencia del estado de Jalisco
- 3pm, The Teams: Charros de Cuauhtémoc “A” – San Martín Caballero “A” – Rancho Agua Santa – La Noria de San José.
- 7pm, The Teams Rancho Nuevo de Tepa – Charros de El Cócono – Rancho El Jagüey – Charros de Vallarta.
- 9:30pm, Verbena Popular » A street party at Los Arcos Ampitheater on the Malecon with the Xiutla Ballet, Mariachis, a demonstration of floreo de soga (laso twirling) and un cantante de ranchero.
Friday, February 22
- 11am, The Teams: Charros del Rancho El Jaralito – Hacienda Tamariz de Puebla – Tequila Hacienda Vieja.
- 2pm, The Teams: Charros DOSA de Saltillo – Ganadera Santa Isabel – Rancho Las Cuatas
- 5pm, The Teams: Charros de Real del Fénix – Rancheros de Tijuana – Charros de Santa Fe Valladolid – Charros de la Frontera Sur.
- 11pm, Tradicional Maleconeada » Charros, Chicas, live music from a brass band, and free tequila dispensed generously from a push cart while hundreds of people casually stroll and dance down the Malecón from Park Hidalgo to the wee hours. Everyone is welcome.
Saturday, February 23
