This week is Semana Santa, the single most busy tourism week in Vallarta.
SUNDAY April 1
- DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS AT 2 AM
- PALM SUNDAY — Official start of SEMANA SANTA
- VIA RECREACTIVA — 8 am to 2 pm. From the Sports Stadium to the Holiday Inn, Fco. Medina Ascencio (the main airport road) will be closed to traffic for a public walk, bicycle, run. Traffic will be diverted to the laterals.
- LA CRUZ FARMERS MARKET — 10 am to 2 pm. In the La Cruz Marina.
- SUNSET MILONGA AND LATIN DANCE PARTY — 4:30 to 8 pm at the Hotel Rosita, Paseo Diaz Ordaz # 901. Free class and dance (Tango, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue). Drink and food available for purchase.
- CONCERT — Municipal Band, 7 pm, Presidencia Square, FREE
- PUBLIC DANCE — the Sunday Evening Dance, 7 pm, traditional dancing to live music in the Presidencia Square, FREE
- MISS CONCEPTION — Stage to Screen Drag. 10 pm at The Palm, Olas Altas 508. $10 US.
- THE MALECÓN — When the sun goes down, the Malecón comes alive. Come out and see and stroll the new Malecon!

- MALECON SCULPTURE TOUR — 9:30 am. Walk along the Malecon with Gary Thompson leading an intriguing guided tour of the Sculptures. Meet at the Millennium Sculpture by the Hotel Rosita. Free.
- CRAZY BEACHES BAZAAR — 10 am to 2 pm at Crazy Beaches, Madero 163. 100 pesos to sell. Anything goes…. Email for info.
- DEMOCRATS ABROAD TUESDAY MOVIE — 7 pm. —The Sea Inside on a giant projector screen at the Paradise Community Center, 127 Pulpito. Food and Drinks available. 60 pesos.
- GRINGO KARAOKE — 7 to 11 pm at Fast Eddie’s Comedy Bar, 314 Aguacate at Carranza.

- IFC HOME TOURS — Tour 4 local fine homes. Meet at 10:30 am at 242 Aquiles Serdan. Donation is 450 pesos (benefits IFC charity programs). Reservations suggested. 322-221-5681
- ART WALK — 6 to 10 pm. Open house at 9 Centro Vallarta Art Galleries. Complimentary cocktails. Free.
- ARTISAN’S MARKET AND INTERNATIONAL FOOD COURT — 6 to 9 pm, at the Paradise Community Center, 127 Pulpito, Old Town. Food, Entertainment and Crafts.

- PARADE OF THE 12 STATIONS OF THE CROSS – REALLIZAN EL VIACRUCIS — 9:45 am beginning at Parque Hidalgo and continuing to the Church of the Virgin of Guadalupe and on to Cardenas Park where the crucifixion will be performed approximately 2 hours later.
