Sylvie Scopazzo » “No Swine”

Sylvie Scopazzo of the Zippers:

What do you do when the economy takes a dump and you find yourself with too much time on your hands? How about rewriting Eric Clapton’s legendary “Cocaine” to tell the world that at least here in Puerto Vallata, there’s “No Flu, No Swine.”

Katmandu Live » Monday, May 11

Dear Friends,

As we all know, the past few weeks has been a very rough time for all of us in Puerto Vallarta!

All of the stores, hotels, restaurants, and clubs have taken a big economic hit. Some of the hardest hit has been the local musicians, most of who abruptly lost their jobs without any notice. Relief is not in site as the normal low of Low Season is almost upon us.

For the wonderful gift of music given to me over the years, I would like to extend my hand to some Puerto Vallarta’s best musicians. It is also an opportunity for all of us rejoice and feel good again after the negative energy perpetuated by the world press.

Please join me this Monday night, 8:00 pm May 11, at Casa Amorita for a wonderful night of music by Katmandu. Many of you may already have had the opportunity to experience their inspirational mix of the Indian sitar and traditional western instruments.

As you may be aware, special events to feature the music of Katmandu have been presented by Cafe des Artistes, The River Cafe, Girasol, and Cafe de Artistes del Mar for Katmandu.

A recommended cover charge of $150 pesos will be taken at the door. A pay-as-you go bar will be available before the first set and during intermission.

Hope to see you Monday!
