
Grupo Folclórico Vallarta Azteca of CUC, Centro Universitario de la Costa, will be presented on Sunday May 30th at noon at Teatro Vallarta, to raise funds for the purchase of clothing for its next program Bicentennial.

The program will be two hours. In the first part there will be dances from various states: Danza del venado (Sonora) and the sounds of Sinaloa, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Yucatan, Nayarit. The second part presents a cultural journey through the beautiful past of Jalisco, accompanied by the Mariachi Tierra Jalisco.
This is a great opportunity to meet and support the Theatre Vallarta. This group has shown great quality and a strong commitment to preserve the intangible heritage of Mexico through dance.

Presently on tour throughout Mexico, and making stops in over 20 cities, the Russian State Ballet will perform in Puerto Vallarta’s recently-inaugurated Teatro Vallarta on Thursday, May 13, at 8:30 pm.
Founded in 1978, the classical ballet company is based at the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and features graduates of choreographic schools in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.
The program will feature a dance interpretation of Carl Orff’s popular scenic cantata, “Carmina Burana,” based on 24 medieval poems from the collection with the same name. In addition, the Russian State Ballet will perform a Classical Ballet Gala, featuring selections from some of the most popular ballets, such as Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Nutcracker,” and Ludwig Minkus’ “Don Quixote” among others.
