Life is good but traffic will be disrupted in Centro Vallarta until Wednesday because of the Peregrinaciones.
SUNDAY December 9
- PEREGRINACIONES
- THE CROCODILE CLASSIC — SUP Race and Demos at the Vallarta Yacht Club in Nuevo Vallarta Marina.
- VIA RECREACTIVA — 8 am to 2 pm. From the Sports Stadium to the Holiday Inn, Fco. Medina Ascencio (the main airport road) will be closed to traffic for a public walk, bicycle, run. Traffic will be diverted to the laterals.
- LA CRUZ FARMERS MARKET (MERCADO HUANACAXTLE) — 10 am to 2 pm at the La Cruz Marina.
- SUNSET MILONGA AND LATIN DANCE PARTY — 4:30 to 8 pm at the Hotel Rosita, Paseo Diaz Ordaz # 901. Free class from 4:30 – 5:30 pm and Dancing from 5:30 – 8 pm (Tango, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue). Drink and food available for purchase.
- CONCERT — Municipal Band, beginning at 6 pm, Presidencia Square, FREE
- PUBLIC DANCE — the Sunday Evening Dance, 7 pm, traditional dancing to live music in the Presidencia Square, FREE
- XUITLA BALLET — 8 pm at Los Arcos del Malecon. Folkloric Dance. Free.
- THE MALECÓN — When the sun goes down, the Malecón comes alive. Come out and see and stroll the new Malecon!

- MALECON SCULPTURE WALKING TOUR — 9:30 am. Gary Thompson leads the best free art tour in Vallarta. Discover the real stories behind the many sculptures on our Malecon.
- TOURS OF CENTRO VALLARTA — at 9 am and noon beginning at the old city hall. Free tours of downtown Vallarta with professional tour guides. The tours will include iconic points, galleries, craft markets and some shops and / or restaurants.
- PEACE HOME TOURS — 10:30 am starting at Plaza Romy. Tour the homes of the Vallarta rich and famous. 450 pesos.

- INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR & MARKET — 4 to 7:30 pm at the Paradise Community Center at 127 Pulpito.
- VALLARTA ART WALK — 6 to 10 pm. Stroll through 13 downtown art galleries, meet the artists and see some of the finest art Vallarta has to offer. Some galleries offer welcoming cocktails and snacks. Each week is different. Free.
THURSDAY December 13
- IFC HOME TOURS — 10:30 am staring at I. Vallarta and Aquiles Serdan. Tour the homes of the Vallarta rich and famous. Proceeds benefit the IFC cleft palate program. 450 pesos.
- LORENA OCHOA SCULPTURE UNVEILING — 1 pm on the Malecon. The governor of Jalisco and other dignitaries will be present to honor the golfer with a sculpture.
- VALLARTA SCENE EXPAT MEETUP — 6 pm to 8 pm at Langostino’s on Los Muertos Beach. A lively *extended* informal happy hour get-together for expats, visitors and nationals. Everyone is invited.
- CONCERT — Municipal Band, 7 pm, Presidencia Square, FREE
- ARGENTINE TANGO DANCE PERFORMANCE — 7:30 to 8 pm at Los Arcos Amphitheater. Argentine tango masters Jaimes Friedgen and Christa Rodriguez accompanied by Bohemia Viva (Argentine musician duo Andrea Mottura Vaudagna y Luis Lujan Balduin). Free. CANCELLED
- LOTERIA (MEXICAN BINGO) — 8 to 10 pm at Bar Frida. “Come and get lucky.” Fabulous prizes. Drink specials. No cover.
FRIDAY December 14
- SOUTHSIDE SHUFFLE — 6 to 10 pm on Basilio Badillo. Strolling musicians, special sales, a street party-like atmosphere.
- XUITLA BALLET — 7:30 pm in Lazaro Cardenas Park. Folkloric Dance. Free.
- SATURDAY FARMERS MARKET — At the Paradise Community Center on Pulpito in Old Town. 9 to 1 pm. Year-round (this is the “alternative market”).
- VALLARTA TOURIST FARMERS MARKET — 9:30 am to 2 pm at Caranza and Pino Suarez (This is the “official city-sponsored market”).
- ETHNIC CULINARY FAIR — 10 am to 10 pm in Park Hidalgo. A cultural fair with food demonstrations, dance and crafts from various Jalisco indigenous people. Runs until December 30.
- DOGS & CATS — SPCA Pet Adoptions, Los Mangos Library, 10 am to 2 pm.
- LITERARY — PV Writers Group Meeting at Biblioteca Los Mangos, Ave. Francisco Villa 1001 at 1 pm.
- TANGO DANCE PARTY ON THE MALECON — 9 pm to mindnight. Milonga Luz de Luna en el Malecón. A tango dance party with Jaimes & Christa and Bohemia Viva. It is called a Milonga… where tango dancers come together for an evening of dancing in a club, a home, anywhere… and just like milongas in Buenos Aires, music of other dance styles, salsa, swing and more will be played so the general public, passersby can join in and dance. It will be held on the Malecón at Galeana by the Faro.
