On October 25 to 27, the city of Puerto Vallarta will host the 2nd Encounter of Traditional Food.
The price of a ticket is 50 pesos general public, $25 pesos students with current school ID and children under 12. Each 50 peso ticket enables 10 tastings or drinks.
Opossum barbecue, tamales and cream cheese with tuna, maguey honey porridge, turkey mole, mole of tantarria with duck, flower tortilla aloe broth, bread soup, enchiladas calimotas, deer in black sauce, coachala dish, a salad of xonocostle, garambullo sauce, rabbit Chichimeca, Indian tail, enchiladas potosinas, aporriadillo avocado sauce, stuffed chile uchepo … are just some of the dishes that will be offered to Vallarta.
This event is sponsored by CONACULTA, El Fondo Regional para la Cultura y las Artes, La Dirección de la Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno del Estado de Jalisco in coordination restauranteur, Nacho Cadena.
Participants from 10 Mexican states, Aguascalientes, Colima, Jalisco, Michoacan, Guanajuato, Nayarit, Querétaro, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas and Jalisco will offer tastings and exhibitions of food preparation. There will also be live entertainment including the Xuitla Ballet and Paco Padillo and Mariachi México Vive.
There will be tequila tastings and the crowning of Miss Tequila. There will also be be book presentations, films and conferences.
Most of the tastings and conferences will be in the Presidencia and the entertainment will be at Los Arcos. The tastings will be at 6 pm and the entertainment will be at 8 pm.
Last year this event was held in Pitillal and was so great a success that it will now become a Vallarta tradition.
