At La Huerta Restaurant in Paso Ancho at 4 pm Sunday, September 28 is an organizational meeting for the Puerto Vallarta FIDO Home Dining club. This event costs 80 pesos (including tips) and is the traditional La Huerta Mongolian BBQ. If you’ve never been to La Huerta, it’s about time. The setting is supreme on the Cuale River facing spectacular rock cliffs.
Combine the great food, the setting, Los Bambinos and there isn’t much else worth even thinking about doing in Vallarta this Sunday.
If you want to bring your own bottle, that’s fine, but beverages will also be available for purchase.
The FIDO Club is a newly, loosely organized gathering of residents who share their homes with 12-15 other people on designated nights. The host prepares the meal and the costs are divided up between those attending. We’ve had 4 nights of FIDO so far and the costs have ranged between 40 and 75 pesos. Not bad for very interesting, creative, and, dare-I-say, gourmet meals. If you love eating out and are tired of (or at least resting from) the restaurant scene, FIDO may be what you’re looking for.
As word is spreading about the FIDO Club, more people are interested and we’ve decided to hold a general organizational meeting to see if this can work on a larger scale (more gatherings per week).
For this evening at La Huerta, we need to have a head count by Wednesday afternoon, September 24. Email Robin of Casa del Angel at Robins World05 (at) msn.com to sign up.

When you email Robin, ask her what “FIDO” stands for.
