The MacIntosh Pipe Band of San Francisco, California, will be performing a public concert at 8 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2010, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The concert will take place at the picturesque outdoor Los Arcos Amphitheater along the famed Malecon walkway. The Band’s appearance has been coordinated through Puerto Vallarta’s Department of Art and Culture.
The concert will feature the traditional Scottish music of the Great Highland Bagpipes and drums together with performances by the Band’s vocalist and highland dancers. In addition, the band will introduce some not so traditional pipe band music for this special south of the border appearance.

On the evenings of Friday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 5th the band is scheduled to participate in the Festival of Guadalupe processions in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
On Fri 12/3 it will be part of the procession with the Playa Los Arcos Hotels who is their primary hotel sponsor. The band will be starting from the vicinity of the Playa Los Arcos Hotel at approx 8 pm. They expect to arrive at the church at about 9:45.
On Sun. 12/5 the band will start their procession from the north at the Woolworth store location at 8:45 pm and they expect to arrive at the church at about 10 pm.
The award winning MacIntosh Pipe Band is a non-profit organization featuring talented musicians who volunteer their time and talent. The band was formed over 25 years ago and since that time has performed for enthusiastic audiences throughout California, the western United States and beyond. In 2001 the band traveled to Scotland to compete at the annual World Pipe Band Championships and other international competitions.
